·         Payment and signed registration form must be received before the start of the first class session.

 

·         All puppies participating in Anderson Lakes Animal Hospital’s puppy socialization class must be under 16 weeks of age. Exceptions may be made based on personality and temperament at the discretion of the instructor.

 

·         All puppies must be current on vaccines appropriate for their age. This includes Bordetella (kennel cough vaccine), distemper, and rabies.  Puppies should also be on some form of flea control.

 

·         If a puppy is found to have an infectious or communicable disease, the puppy will not be allowed to attend class.  This may include but is not limited to; vomiting, diarrhea, sneezing/coughing, or parasites.  If you have questions or concerns regarding the health of your puppy please call our office.  In instances of puppy illness, refunds for class may be issued on a case by case basis. 

 

·         Puppy socialization classes are held on Monday evenings at Anderson Lakes Animal Hospital from 6-7pm for 5 consecutive weeks.  Sessions that are missed by participants cannot be made up and cannot be refunded.  Sessions which are cancelled by the instructor due to illness or bad weather will be made up the following week.

 

·         Once the 5 week course has started no refunds will be provided.  If you need to cancel before the start of the course please notify Anderson Lakes Animal Hospital 24 hours before the first class in order to receive an account credit for the course.

 

·         Anderson Lakes Animal Hospital reserves the right to cancel or postpone class prior to the start date if there is insufficient enrollment as determined by the instructor.  If a class is cancelled or postponed prior to the start date you will be given the option to roll over your enrollment or cancel and receive a credit to your account at Anderson Lakes Animal Hospital.

 

·         We reserve the right to refuse admittance if limitations of the handler or puppy impair the ability of the instructor to teach the methods employed in the class.  If at any time the instructor feels that a puppy or handler is jeopardizing the safety of people or other puppies in the class, the instructor may request that the puppy be removed from class.  We will make reasonable accommodations to ensure a successful class experience.

·         An owner with knowledge of a puppy’s aggressive behavior or other serious behavior problems must speak with the instructor prior to enrollment to determine if the puppy can attend class or if other arrangements should be made.

 

·         Children are welcome to attend and participate in class but must be accompanied by an adult.  Children who attend class must be supervised by an adult and well behaved.  If the instructor finds that a child or children are jeopardizing the safety of people or puppies in the class or are causing a disruption for other people in the class, the instructor may request that the child or children be removed from class.

 

·         Puppies enrolled in class must come to class with suitable equipment including one of the following: nylon or leather collar, gentle leader, or harness and a leash.  Choke chains, prong collars, bungee style leashes, or retractable leashes are not allowed during class.  If you are unsure on how to use a piece of equipment please ask the instructor.

 

·         Anderson Lakes Animal Hospital’s puppy socialization class includes an element of risk for participants, attending family members/guests, and puppies; this may include, without limitation, risks of illness, falls, bites, and injury through co.ntact with other participants, their puppies, or interior/exterior surroundings where training takes place.

 

·         I agree to hold Anderson Lakes Animal Hospital and its employees, owners, and agents harmless from any liability whatsoever resulting from any injuries, damages, or disease (i.e. kennel cough, fleas, etc.) sustained as a result of participation in the training, even though such liability may arise.

 

·         Anderson Lakes Animal Hospital makes no representations, guarantees, or promises, implied or expressed, that any information received from Anderson Lakes Animal Hospital’s puppy socialization classes will cure a puppy of any dangerous propensities.  It is fully understood that regardless of the training received by the animal, a puppy will always possess the propensity to bite.  I hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless Anderson Lakes Animal Hospital, its employees, owners, and agents from any and all claims, or claims by any family member, or guest while on the grounds of any facility where training takes place, the surrounding area, on my own property or in a public area as a result of any action by any puppy including my own.

 

·         I understand and approve that Anderson Lakes Animal Hospital may take pictures during the course of the socialization classes.  Anderson Lakes Animal Hospital may use pictures of participants and their puppies for promotional and publicity purposes without liability or obligations to the participants.
